Laurie Ewert-Krocker

Director of Training

Laurie Ewert-Krocker has been a presenter and Course Director for the AMI-NAMTA Orientation to Adolescent Studies and has consulted with Montessori adolescent programs around the world for 15 years.

She holds AMI diplomas at the 3-6 and 6-12 levels. Laurie was the founding head teacher of Hershey Montessori School’s Adolescent Community in 1996 and served as both Middle School Program Director and Upper School Program Director at Hershey where she worked for 28 years.

Laurie is now the Director of IMTI and frequently travels around the world to various Montessori Adolescent Programs and events as a speaker and consultant.

Emily Dowell

Emily Dowell received a BSc in Nursing from McMaster University and worked as pediatric nurse prior to her life in Montessori. Emily trained at the 3-6 and 6-12 levels, but her passion is adolescence. She attended the NAMTA/AMI Orientation to Adolescent Studies in 2011 and was an establishing member of Strata Montessori Adolescent School in Ontario, Canada. She has worked in several adolescent communities including Hershey Montessori’s Adolescent Community on the Farm. She supports adolescent practitioner development as a lecturer and advisor at the Orientation, a consultant, and workshop speaker. Currently, Emily is the Lead Guide and Curriculum Coordinator of the Montessori School of Tokyo’s Middle School programme.

Tanesia R Hale-Jones is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans where she earned her B.A. in English Literature/Creative Writing and San Francisco State University where she earned her MFA in poetry and poetics.  Tanesia is trained at the 6-12 Level, completed the AMI/NAMTA Orientation to Adolescent Studies in 2015 and is the founding guide and Curriculum Coordinator of Escuela del Sol Montessori’s Jr High Program. 

Additionally, Tanesia is active in Albuquerque’s art and poetry community.  She is currently a Chatter Poetry Fellow and a member of the EKCO Poets Collective. She has performed her original poems at Tricklock Performance Space, Harwood Art Center, Burque Noir & Chatter.  Her written work has been published in Callaloo, Sentence 5, 14 Hills, Mirage#4/Period(cial), and has been featured in exhibitions at Harwood Art Center. Tanesia lives and works on Tiwa Territory in Albuquerque, NM with her 16-year-old, two cats and many house plants.

Susan Holmes-Glazier

Susan Holmes-Glazier has been involved in Montessori from the age of two as a student, guide, and parent.  She became an adolescent guide in 2003 at Hershey Montessori’s Adolescent Community on the Farm and has served as Director and founding guide of Montessori Adolescent Communities. Susan holds an AMI 6-12 diploma, a M.Ed in Montessori education, and a B.S. and M.S. in Natural Resources. She attended the first NAMTA Montessori Orientation to Adolescent Studies in 2003 and served on the Orientation faculty as an Advisor, Project Coach, and Presenter for many years. Susan has presented at national and regional AMI, NAMTA, and other Montessori conferences.  She lives in New Hampshire where she is a musician, potter, and an adolescent guide at Hollis Montessori School.
